FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XV

by Jeffrey Lee | October 16, 2015

Misima Is. You may not have heard about this Island and what happened over there. But you should and you will, very soon.
Our Oakland neighbor - Bryan Pitcher is ready to document the ramifications of mining operation and the aftermath on the native Misiman culture. Its going to be a yr-long project for the crew to station at the island: to meet the native folks and transcend their veracity.

A tad more serious than our usual Fri. post, but its a compelling project w/ great cause. Check out & share the short clip here:

FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XIV - James Bay

by Jade Lam | October 09, 2015

On a Spotify “New Music Tuesday” playlist  last summer, I discovered this British singer James Bay.  If you recall, he was opener for the Rolling Stone concert at Hyde Park.

Chaos and the Calm’s his first full-length album following a pair of well-received EPs, reveals he has a precocious talent as a 24-year-old songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist.

Let It Go as he winds together elements of pop, folk, rock, blues, and soul. What initially caught my ear then, and still does, is the complete earnestness in which he sings. You can feel and almost see the heartbreak thanks to his visual lyrics.

Hold back the river there is something about this song that quickly draws you in and picks you up from any slump you’re in at the moment.

I could listen to his latest album all day, and I think you'll enjoy it too. Check out the song below.

FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XIII - Pinroll cuff w/ Straight 01

by Robin Chan | October 02, 2015

Getting bored with the traditional single, double, skinny cuff? Here is a pinroll cuff method that doesn't unravel and gives you an extra tapering effect. More importantly, it will keep the indigo dye from ruining your light-color footwear. Last but not least, it is a good chance to show off your favorite shoes!

tips: it works best with denim with longer cuts and lighter weights.

more tips: wear sneaker socks.
