FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XX - Day after Thanksgiving

by Jeffrey Lee | November 27, 2015

You woke up w/ a slight delusion that you had a dream of birds/ feast/ booze. The verve of family gathering & love ones reunion deemed surreal and ephemeral.

Only to realize that pair of raw you had been breaking in since last March no longer fits. The top not even remotely close to be buttoned.
Antsy. Frustrated. Hope. At the crossroad where one was to resume that vicious fitness cycle w/ riveted mind power.

Or, you can always get a brand new pair. One size up. Life continues & ventures on.

Announcing our steepest annual sales event, now till Cyber Monday. Cheers everyone.

FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XIX - SF local art scene & beyond

by Jeffrey Lee | November 20, 2015

FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XIX - SF local art scene & beyond

Southern Exposure, Mission SF

Crank @Southern Exposure. Opening reception @ 7pm tonight, 11/20.

This annual event is the premier showcase of contemporary artwork by promising local talents. With varied & open-ended theme each year, artists are encouraged to pursue a broad range of artistic expression across media.

For those who are unfamiliar w/ SoEx: Southern Exposure have been the beacon of artist-centric resource & educational hub in SF Bay Area since 1974.
Amidst this year's coterie of 50 aspiring artists, our personal fav. Mr. Jon Gourley's work is also included @ Crank.

Jon constantly explores the juxtaposition between institution & individuality. His works are often propositions based on an acute & keen observation on everyday's habitual subjects.

We are fans of the antsy & witty tone embodied in Jon's works.

Side track back to denim, we are also enticed and ready to launch our debut Artist Collaboration series w/ Jon G.. It was almost a year long collaboration process and we love the results. More detail on this series soon.

Till next week, cheers everyone!

p.s. if you happen to be around SoEx, get a cocktail @Trick Dog! Its usually *very packed and you will sip thru the reason behind =)

FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XVIII - Travel Journal II - Zhongshan

by Robin Chan | November 13, 2015

Travel Journal II - Zhongshan - besides naming after the founding father of the Republic of China, Sun ZhongShan and where Doublewood Denim are made from :).  It is actually a city with great food options.

One of the most crowded and famous restaurant in Zhongshan is Shiqilao 石岐佬: You can order all kinds of local authentic food here with reasonable price. Must try - roast pigeon and super sized fried dumpling.

p.s. Don't forget to check out the gigantic fish tank urinal in the male restroom.

Last but the least, if you are interested in seeing the old buildings in Zhongshan, San Xi Cun 三溪村 will be a good place to stop by and with abundant choices of coffee shops.

FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XVI Taipei

by Jade Lam | October 30, 2015

Taipei- one of our favorite city in Asia also known as the best food destination in the world, the culinary philosophy in Taipei is eat often and eat well.

洪瑞珍三文治 Horng Ryen Jen sandwiches is a traditional bakery in Taichung that started in the 70's and its signature item are sandwiches with a variety of fillings. Apparently these sandwiches from Taichung has replaced the classic pineapple cakes as the most requested souvenir from Taiwan.

上引水產 Addiction Aquatic Development
Addiction Aquatic Development is a seafood and fruit market and a food court in Taipei. There are so many selections of seafood in raw , order to cook or you can but those packed ready to serve sushi , sashimi and grill seafood. Mouth-watering.

FRIDAY.LASSITUDE.XVI-Back to the future

by Robin Chan | October 23, 2015

While "Back to the Future" Day has been the talk of the town, do you know besides the hoverboards, smartglasses, self-lacing shoes that actually came true, there is also a trend in the movie that you might have missed? It is the inside-out pants - just like Doc Brown tells us all the kids are wearing in 2015!

So we tried it out with our narrow / 01 but it feels weird because of the hard-to-access belt loops, back pockets. The best part is people now can see clearly our cross-sectional tree stem pattern on front pocket. For those who might not be aware, there is actually a little tree ring inside of the tree stem. It will increase per denim batch symbolizing the growth of our brand as well!
