Denim Care Guide
Will Doublewood Denim Shrink?
Our denim fabrics is sanforized in mill already, meaning shrinkage is much less in comparison to unsanforized denim. Our jeans will only shrink 3% max within normal wash.
When to Wash Raw Denim?
During the first 6 months of a newly bought jeans, we recommend washing only when they're stained, or absolutely necessary. Otherwise wait 6 months before first wash but it also depends on how often you wear your jeans and what you do in your jeans.
Washing Raw Denim
- Turn your jeans inside out, and button up.
- Fill the tub with enough lukewarm water to fully submerge the denim, mix in a small amount of very light washing powder like Woolite Dark which specifically designed to lock in darker colors.
- Let set the detergent bottle or some other heavy items onto the jeans to keep them submerged. Let them sit for 45 minutes.
- Drain the tub and rinse the jeans with clean water. You can roll them up and rinse under the faucet to get out extra soap, wringing as needed.
- Hang dry indoor.
